Why this blog and why "The encyclopedia of my life"?

Hi, my name is Eric Oborski, and welcome to my blog.

This are my passports. Yeah, no kidding! The thickest of them all is 331 pages, and in total I guess i have about 1,400 pages. Each of those pages have multiple stamps, and each stamp tells a story, not only about me, my life as a gay man, but those stamps are also connected with some of the events that changed history and were part of my experience.
Each page, each stamp has a story behind. Some will be funny, some will show how our world and our views about politics, gay life and travel have change, but most important this stories will show you my journey through life.
And why "The encyclopedia of my life"? That was something that happened in a trip to Australia.
As you can imagine, every time i showed this passport at the immigration booths, i had the most diverse comments. All the clerks took it and showed them to their peers, but in this particular case, she not only showed it around, but also said something that was in my mind for years: "This passport is not really a passport, this is the encyclopedia of your life!"
The stories that i will post here are not going to have a chronological order, as i told you before, they will be related to a stamp in there...and there are 1400 pages, so i have a lot, and i mean a lot to tell you!
So thanks for reading this, and hope you will follow my adventures.
And if you want to read more about this passports this is a note that that The Smithsonian wrote about me and my passports:
